Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran (17 February 1991) is a singer-songwriter of British/Irish descent. Sheeran is the son of Irish and British parents. During his youth, he moved to Framlingham (Suffolk), where he learned to play guitar at a young age. He began writing songs during his school years at Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham.

Sheeran started recording songs in 2005, which led to the release of his first EP, The Orange Room EP. Sheeran also released two more EPs, a self-titled one (Ed Sheeran) in 2006 and Want Some? in 2007. He moved to London in 2008 to perform small gigs. In 2007 or 2008, he auditioned for the TV series Britannia High by Independent Television.

In 2009, Sheeran performed 312 times: he said he had read an interview with British singer James Morrison, who said he had done about two hundred performances that year. Sheeran aimed to surpass Morrison, which he succeeded in doing. Just before Sheeran went on tour with Just Jack, he released the EP You Need Me.

In February 2010, Sheeran posted a video on the SB.TV website. British rapper Example picked up the video and asked Sheeran to tour with him. In February 2010, he released another EP, Loose Change, which also included his later debut single The A Team. The video made for the song cost only £20.

In April 2010, Sheeran left his management company and bought a ticket to Los Angeles, where he attended several open mic nights. During a performance at The Foxxhole, a club owned by Jamie Foxx, he was noticed by Foxx, who invited him to his home, where he recorded several songs. Throughout 2010, Sheeran gained more recognition, partly thanks to a growing group of fans following him via his YouTube channel. A mention in The Independent also brought him recognition. Endorsements from football captain Rio Ferdinand and superstar Elton John were decisive for his growing fame.

The A-Team

Ed Sheeran really broke through in June 2011 with his official debut single 'The A-Team' both in his home country, the United Kingdom, and in the Netherlands. The second single 'You Need Me, I Don't Need You' did less well in our country. The third single 'Lego House' was released in January 2012.
